On September 2, I am launching the Four Seasons of Winnie-the-Pooh, my first graphic novel to feature Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger, Heffalumps, Wozzles and more in a comic book/illustrated stories that follow their adventures in the fantasy world of 100-acre wood.
I do recognize that learning, that me, the creator of Mr. Button, the Night Guardians and the Let’s Hunt Monstas! comics is now writing and drawing a Winnie-the-Pooh could be a bit of a shock. However, writing a Winnie-the-Pooh book is something I have long talked about, and I am taking the break between Let’s Hunt Monstas! Series One and before I pick up the pencil for Series Two to make it happen.
What to expect? I have spent quite a few years figuring out how to draw Winnie-the-Pooh in a way that incorporates my thicker line style and that of E.H. Shepard and I’ve found I am very comfortable drawing the characters of 100-acre wood. The story telling style is the gentle quest like adventures you would expect from any Winnie-the-Pooh book. I have added my more dynamic style to the storytelling and I expect you will find a couple of narrative surprises.
