October 14 marks a very special occasion: 100 years since Winnie-the-Pooh, created by A.A. Milne and E.H. Shepard, was first published.

One hundred years of adventures with a bear of very little brain and a heart full of honey is quite an achievement. For a century, Pooh and his friends have been wandering through the Hundred Acre Wood, finding grand adventures in the simplest of things, and reminding us that friendship, kindness, and a little bit of silliness never go out of style.

So, welcome to a very special Winnie-the-Pooh Day.

Like so many readers, my journey into the Hundred Acre Wood began at bedtime. My father would read those stories to me, bringing Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, Eeyore, and the rest of the gang to life with every turn of the page. Those moments sparked my imagination in ways I couldn’t have understood at the time. Looking back now, I can trace a line from those evenings spent with a pot of imaginary honey to The Night Guardians and the Monsta-Hunta’verse books I create today.

Funny how stories work like that, isn’t it? They stay with us. They grow alongside us. And sometimes, years later, they find their way back home.

The Four Seasons of Winnie-the-Pooh is my love letter to the Hundred Acre Wood and a tribute to my father, who first opened the door to that wonderful world for me. The book features four brand-new adventures starring Pooh and friends, all written and illustrated by me. Together with the accompanying figures, it offers a charming way to celebrate 100 years of gentle wisdom, warm friendship, and delightfully silly adventures; check it out here.

After all, as Pooh might remind us, some stories are too good to outgrow.
